Nike Spec Commercial Practice is the key to everything, including growth as a player and especially growth as a DP. Even on exterior day shoots with minimal gear, like this one there is always something new to learn and apply.
My lesson on this shoot came in the form of camera movement. I always knew movement is of course an essential element to visual storytelling but it’s on this shoot where I learned how even imperfections in movement can add a whole new dimension to a shot or sequence of shots. The initial montage for this commercial was built off of imperfect movements, shakes or transitional periods as i reframed; that when put together gave the piece an energy I couldn’t capture through a perfect handheld track or whatever it may be.
